What do you mean by Paid-up Capital?

Paid-up capital is the total amount of money that a company has received from its shareholders in exchange for shares of stock. It represents the portion of the company's authorized capital that has been actually paid by the shareholders.

Let’s take an example

Imagine a company “Xyz” plans to issue 1,000 shares at Rs.100 per share.

  • Total authorized capital: Rs.100,000.
